Hour of Code (December 8-12, 2014)

From Nicole Jimenez: "Hour of Code is December 8th – 12th. We want as many schools (and school libraries!) as possible to celebrate!"

I have several resources and lesson plans for teaching students to code. I would love to work with you and your class on an introduction to coding this week! Please let me know if you would like to schedule a lesson for Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday. Check out the video below from HourOfCode.com.

Notes from the Library...

The Library is now on Twitter and Instagram! @GlenviewLibrary
  • All Library books will be due before Winter Break.
  • Please email both Mara and me if you have a new student who needs a library card. We often have students come and tell us they need a new card just because they left it at home or in another classroom. We are trying to encourage student accountability through the Responsible Reader program, and if students lose or ruin their library card, they won't be eligible to check out the brand new books. Thanks!
  • Please check out the box outside the library doors and take anything you might use. More VHS tapes will be added this week.

Fall Semester Due Dates

Tuesday, December 16: All 1st and 2nd books due

Friday, December 19: All faculty and staff books due
