Mechanical Reaper

The Grain Harvester by Isabela Factor

The Inventor

Cyrus McCormick is the inventor of this fine machine. he invented it in 1831 in Virginia. Because harvesting grain by hand was slow he invented something that will make it faster.

How does the invention work???

It cut the grain for the farmers, though they has to follow it in order to bind the grain. After binding it they had to load it onto a wagon and have it delivered to a stationary threshing machine, which seperated the grain kernel from the plant. The binding had to be completed so the reaper could turn around and start a new roll.
