Student Services
During the month of January, counselors and their juniors meet for their Post-Secondary Planning Meeting. Juniors have received an email from their counselor with a scheduling link for the meeting. All juniors are expected to schedule a meeting with their counselor. Among the topics that will be discussed: PSAT results, post-secondary goal setting, and course selection for senior year. We look forward to meeting with our juniors during this exciting time!
Senior Year Notes
Senior Project News
Another Senior Project checkpoint is coming up soon. Seniors' Applied Piece Proposal letters are due on Monday, January 9; the panel meeting for this checkpoint will take place on Tuesday, January 10. Seniors should continue to meet with their mentors on a weekly basis to make sure they are on track with their research and well prepared to pass this next checkpoint.
As the early decision/early action are coming in, don’t forget to go into Naviance and document the decision under your colleges tab.
Community Council
This week in Community Council we began discussing a proposal from our Guidance Counselors to identify the Valedictorian and Salutatorian using the weighted GPA beginning with the 2022-2023 school year. This is because the class of 2023 is the first class to have a weighted GPA. We will continue discussing this proposal at our next meeting, which is Monday, December 19th at 3:05-3:45 in the Souhegan Information Center.

JOIN THE FLOCK!!
Souhegan High School will be participating in the Penguin Plunge February 11th at Hampton Beach to benefit Special Olympics NH. Did you know that Special Olympics strives to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people? Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities. Athletes find joy, confidence, and fulfillment — on the playing field and in life. They inspire their communities to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential. The donations we collect will go to support this important work!
You can get involved in 2 ways:
Join our flock by registering at https://fundraising.sonh.org/event/hs-penguin-plunge and start collecting donations. If you’re not able to make the plunge on Feb 11th in person, you can make the plunge your own with a DIY kit!
