5th Grade eLearning
Week of April 6th
Welcome Back!
We hope that you had a restful break full of family fun and that you are ready to get back into the routine of remote learning!
Please be patient...
Things are changing DAILY in so many ways, so please be patient with us and with the system. If you have already developed a system that works for you, please continue it. If you are struggling, we want to give you some help! Please reach out to us if you are in need of a sample schedule to get some new routines into motion.
Google Classroom
We are expecting kids to check Google classroom daily to respond to some announcements and to look for assignments. It would be best to get into the routine of checking Google Classroom first thing in the morning and returning to Google Classroom at the end of their work day.
We are asking the kids to complete a Google Form at the end of every work day that fills us in on what they worked on that day.
We also encourage the children to share their work with us through Google Classroom or by sharing Google Docs. We want to see what they are working on and give feedback!
iReady
We are looking for children to meet their iReady minutes each week. The expectation is that the students are spending 40 minutes in Reading and 40 minutes in Math each week. If your child does not have a device that is compatible with iReady, please reach out to your child's teacher.
Daily expectations:
We hold DAILY Zoom meetings at 10:00 AM and we encourage ALL students to be there every day! The link will be posted each morning in Google Classroom.
- One activity from the packet given by the district OR one activity on the choice board in Google Classroom
- Independent reading for at least 35 minutes - during this time students should be writing about their reading and they are encouraged to share it with their teacher

- At least 15 minutes on IXL working on the skills assigned for the week
Writing:

Reminder - No School Friday, April 10th
