The Hunt Family 2015
Two years in review...
Jamie and I hope this letter finds you all well!
Things were just so busy last year we missed sending out our 2014 Christmas letter. Rest assured it was busy and eventful and yet we all survived! 2015 proved to be a tad bit more insane, but this year we are taking a moment to sit back and reflect....did we laugh or cry? A little bit of both as 2015 was filled with travel and adventure.
We packed it all into a few snippets below and a six minute video telling the story of our year.
We hope you enjoy and hope you have a fantastic 2016!

2015 Hunt Family
Jamie
Last January, Jamie continued working on finding a balance between Southwest, the military, family, and his other activities. Shortly into the new year, he was asked to deploy with the Michigan Air National Guard to fight against ISIS. Before he left, he spent some time volunteering for the Tucson Police Department. In March he took leave from Southwest and in April he departed for Kuwait. Over the following three and a half months he served as a Weapons Officer for the 107th fighter squadron. He returned in July after flying 37 combat missions. After a short break, he returned to Southwest and continues to find the right balance between family, jobs, and fun, but it has been a good year.
Bobby
Bobby had the most challenging year of his life. He began the year in 4th grade at Castlehill Country Day School and is now in 5th grade at The Gregory School. He suffered a spiral fracture of his right tibia while skiing in February and spent the majority of the year recovering. Ginger's dad came down for almost ten weeks to take care of Bobby and act as a homeschool teacher while Bob was in a wheelchair. He sadly lost his hamster, Scout, in November, but handled it well. He continues scouting, is an avid reader, is in farm and chess clubs, plays the trumpet in the school band, learned how to ice skate (before the accident), and as most kids his age, is just a tad bit of a gamer.
JD
JD had an adventurous year. He finished 3rd grade at Castlehill and is now in fourth grade at St. Michaels Parish Day School. He learned to play the trombone, continues to play soccer, improved his ice skating skills, read the entire Harry Potter series in two months, and even learned how to use a 3D printer in the MIT FAB Lab at the Gregory School. He takes good care of Happy, his hamster. JD is an avid gamer which helps him stay in touch with his friends as they move around the world. He is highly skilled at texting, FaceTiming, and gaming all at one time!
Ginger
Ginger began 2015 as a technology integration specialist for the University of Arizona and started a website design company where she works on small projects for family and friends. In March she transitioned to a position as instructional designer for the University of Arizona Online. She held down the house while Jamie was deployed, with the help of her father and a nanny. In her spare time... ha ha ha... she enjoys running and gluten-free cooking.
Barley and Bandit
Barley and Bandit continue to hunt tarantulas, bark at the neighbor dogs, and protect the house...when they aren't sleeping. As Labs in the desert, they enjoyed swimming in our neighbor's pool.
Barley
Barley began the year with a second ACL surgery. He turned 9 this year and slowed down a great deal. However, he continues to play fetch, bark at the javelina, dig holes in the back yard, and deposit fur all around the house! :)
Bandit
Bandit is as crazy, lovable, and loyal as ever. He is Ginger's shadow. He suffered 3 days of Happy Tail syndrome in January, a giant swollen toe from some sort of insect bite in June, and was prescribed herbal calming medicine from the vet in July. :)
