CBSA Weekly Update

September 21-25

Dear Families,

Happy Fall!

I'm so grateful for all the staff, parents and community members for helping get this school year started. It certainly has not been a traditional start to the school year! Whether our students are Virtual Academy or Remote Learning our number one priority is our students growing and learning during the 20-21 school year. I encourage each of you to keep in close contact with your student's teacher for support and opportunities to ask questions when you have them. Although things continue to change we all know flexibility, being kind and patient will see us through! As always we appreciate all of your support now and in the coming days!

We are excited for the wonderful weeks ahead!

Important Updates

LEAP: September 21-25

Parents and students were mailed a letter assigning them to LEAP A or B days. "A" days are Monday and Tuesday and "B" days are Wednesday and Thursday. Students should return to campus with their first instructional materials packet to be turned in and graded. While on campus they will receive their second set of materials to work on at home. While students are attending LEAP on campus they are in classrooms with small class sizes and teachers have begun instruction!

Big picture

Virtual Academy

We appreciate your patience as we continue to work through technology challenges. It appears an update must have occurred over the weekend requiring many of the devices to have to be brought back on campus to be logged in. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope each day the technology challenges diminish. Our number one goal is student learning!

If you are having technology problems please pull to do the doors at the media center from 7:30-2:30 for assistance or call 843-362-3500 and ask to be transferred to the media center.

Technology Tips

Some advice we have received from parents and our media specialist...

Using Teams at home:

Find Google Chrome to use as your web browser on your laptop.

Type www.marion.k12.sc.us to find the district webpage.

Scroll to the bottom of the page and find Office 365 on the left side.

Click on Office 365 and login with students username and password.

At the top of the screen on the left side, click the blue grid with nine dots. (This is the Microsoft Menu).

You will find Teams located in the menu.

Click Teams and it should automatically open.

From there students should be able to navigate to their classrooms.

Breakfast and Lunch

Our awesome cafeteria staff is working each day to provide meals for students. Breakfast is served from 7:30-9:00 and lunch is available for pickup from 10:30-1:00.
