Raphael Sanzio

Raphael Sanzio

Raphael was born on April 6, 1483 in Urbino, Italy. He spent most of his life in Florence Italy. He learned from his father and Pietro Pergino for 4 years. He had times in his life where he made alot of artwork and then he had years where he didn't make a lot of art. He was an architect a painter and an engraver. Some pieces of artwork he made were Noah's Sacrifice which was an engraving and The Entombment that was a painting. One of Raphael's biggest patrons was Pope Julius.

Noah's Sacrifice

This piece was created between 1515 and 1527. This piece is located in the Metropolitan Museum of Art. This piece was created by engraving instead of painting. I like this piece because I think that it is cool because it was engraved. This piece shows humanism because these people are killing each other instead of waiting for the gods to decide whether that person and animal should be killed.
