Elm Street Elementary
Report Card Newsletter, October 2014
Welcome to the Paperless Newsletter!
The Elm Street Newsletter is now paperless! That's right! We have gone digital in an effort to provide our families with a more interesting and inviting newsletter format, while also conserving paper so that it can be used for more important instructional activities. One of the most exciting opportunities with this newsletter is being able to directly share photos and video clips, which will give families a chance to learn more about the exciting work taking place within our school. We can still work to provide a print copy to any family who may not have access to the internet at home, but we are encouraging all families to take advantage of the convenience of this new electronic version. Please feel free to offer feedback as we pioneer this new format.
Elm Street Top TEN (Traits Eagles Need)
Super Learners!
A whole bunch of our Super Learners gathered early in the morning on the second day of spirit week for a quick photo. It was a quick smile moment before soaring back to class to start their school day.
During the day we saw super scientists, super readers, and even a Word Problem Boy! Such creativity throughout the buiding.
Loved celebrating NHS Homecoming with our own Spirit Week fun! From Trading Places Day to Newnan High Spirit Day, the week was filled with fun and excitement. Students loved being part of the Pep Rally during lunch as the Newnan High School Football Team and Cheerleaders brought even more spirit to the week!
Special thanks to all students and staff who took part in the fun during the week. Parents, we appreciate you supporting your children in these special school events. They are memory moments in the making!
K-Kids at Elm Street
A new student club, K-Kids, has just begun at Elm Street thanks to the sponsorship of Ms. Copeland, Ms. Evans, and Ms. Wimbley. K-Kids is a student branch of Kiwanis Club. At Elm Street, the club is open to interested fourth and fifth grade students. To begin the inaugural year, a Chartering and Induction Ceremony was held on Tuesday, September 16 at Elm Street.
Special thanks to the Kiwanis Committee Sponsors who helped us begin this program at our school. We also appreciate all the members of Kiwanis of Coweta County and White Oak Golden K Clubs who attended the ceremony, together with School Board Members Frank Farmer and Harry Mullins.

"We Are One Nation, We Are One Land"
Powerful lyrics! Maybe we're not the same race, maybe we don't have the same beliefs, or live in the same kind of place. Maybe we think we're too different? Maybe that's simply not true? I love to hear our students reach the crescendo of this song...
We are one nation.
Yes, we are one land.
Together in freedom, united we stand.
Oh, I Love America!
