Save the Date - Volunteer to Serve Dinner at Broadway Baptist Church's Agape Meal on October 15th.

SGCS faculty would like to extend an invitation to the entire school community to help with volunteer efforts in serving meals to the homeless at Broadway Baptist Church's Agape Meal on Thursday, Oct. 15 beginning at 5:30pm.

28-Spirit Day / Pep Rally, gym @ 2:15 pm - Students may wear their Spirit uniform. Parents are welcomed to join the Pep Rally.

30 - Fall Carnival Meeting, SAMS room, 6:30-7:30pm.


October

2-Blessing of the Animals, softball field, 2:30 pm.

7- Fall Carnival Meeting, 6:30pm-7:30 pm, SAMS room

10-Fall Carnival setup, church parking lot, 4 pm

11-Fall Carnival, 8:30 am-4 pm (booth setup beings at 7:00 am.

12-World Mission Day Kickoff after Morning Prayer / Free Dress Down Day for students who attended the carnival.

FAN Support!!!

Thank you all for coming to our rescue and brining fans to help cool down the school. Without your support, last week would have been unbearably hot.


The air units have been repaired, so let us know how we can get your fan back to you.

SPIRIT DAY!!!! Monday, September 28th

Spirit Day September 28th! Students may wear their blue SG Spirit shirt, jeans (cannot be tight, with holes, or fringed), uniform socks, and shoes. Athletes many wear their volleyball jersey with jeans, uniform socks, and shoes. Uniform pants or shorts are acceptable.


Pep Rally begins at 2:15 pm in the gym. Parents are welcomed to join us and should park on Karnes Street. Please avoid parking in the front of the school and in the gym parking lot.

Blessing of the Animals

Join St. George Catholic School for Blessing of the Animals on Friday, October 2nd on the softball field. Parents may bring their family pet to school at 2:30 pm for the blessing. Pets should either be on a leash, in a cage, in aquarium, etc. If attending Blessing of the Animals, parents should avoid parking in the front of the school, but in the Parish Hall parking lot.

Soccer Shots is for Students in Grades PK3 - 1st

There are four spots available for your child to participate in Soccer Shots. Lessons are on Wednesdays, 3:15-4:00 pm on SGCS's softball field next to the Parish Hall. Students participating should wear their uniform shorts and grey polo. Students not picked up by 4pm will be taken to Extended Care and should be picked up by 6pm

SGCS Still Needs A Concession Coordinator and Volunteers!

Thank you to all the volunteers who help out at the concession stand last Thursday. Your help was greatly appreciated!


The next two games in the gym are October 1st & 3rd and we again need volunteers to help in the concession stand. On October 1st, we need at least 2 volunteers every hour 3:30 pm - 9:30 pm. On October 3rd, we need at least 2 volunteers every hour 8:00 am - 3:00 pm. Contact the office if you are able to volunteer.

FALL CARNIVAL - October 11th. Everyone's help is needed!

Donate the following items and receive volunteer hours:


Case of drinks (Coke, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, Diet Coke, Diet Pepsi, Water) = 1 hour

Large bag of candy (no chocolate) = 1 hour

Gift card of any kind ($10 or more) = 1 hour

Loteria/bingo prize (valued $10 or more) = 1 hour


Look for more information from the Home and School Association and room parents.

Fall Carnival Raffle Tickets

Look for Fall Carnival Raffle tickets to go home with your child on Tuesday, September 29th. All families are required to sell 16 raffle tickets at $5 each ticket. Additional information will be given with the tickets.

Fall Carnival Bounce House Bracelet - $20

Purchase a Fall Carnival bounce house bracelet for only $20. With a bounce house bracelet your child can enjoy unlimited access into the bounce houses and unlimited rides on the train. After Friday, October 9th, the Fall Carnival bounce house bracelet will cost $25. All bounce house bracelets will be given out on the day of the Fall Carnival. Visit the Ticket Booth to pick up your child's bracelet.

North Texas Giving Day

Thank you to all of our supporters for your kind gift during North Texas Giving Day. With your help the school raised $1115 in one day. If you wanted to give a monetary gift and forgot or were unable to at the time, join us for our Annual Appeal which begins mid-October and lasts until June 30th.
