Reading Month is Here!

and it is absolute MARCH MONSTER MADNESS!!!

Let the Madness Begin!!!

Our goal is to get all students to read 20 minutes per day, everyday!

We have 2 goals:

Our class goal is for all students to read 500 minutes in March.

Our school goal is a total of 200,000 minutes!

We know that we can’t always find the time every single day, so if we all try to read 20 minutes a day 5 days a week we can reach our goal.

That is a lot of reading minutes, but we can do it.

We have some exciting events planned to help us get there....

What do we win? The class with the most minutes from each grade level, and the most accelerated reader points, will earn a trip to the Kaliseum

Every student will get a weekly reading log to help them keep track of their minutes. Bring this back each Monday. Your teacher will give your slip to Mrs. Reust to tally and it will be added to the “Reading is out of this World” tracker in the cafeteria hallway.

Starting next week, and for the rest of March, on Tuesday morning Mrs. Zenner will pull a name from a basket (from each grade) with all of the students that have turned in their reading log, and that person will win a brand new book!

Our school goals:

1st goal: 50,000 minutes = Wear your PJ’s to school

2nd goal: 100,000 minutes = Dress like a monster day!

3rd goal: 150,000 minutes = Popcorn and Movie afternoon!

Final goal: 200,000 minutes = Mrs. Zenner’s principal challenge

Reading Logs should be coming home weekly that look like this...
