St. Joseph eUpdate

Moving Along with Mrs. Maddox
Dear St. Joseph Families,
Enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year will officially open next month. If you know anyone new to the parish, or maybe have a neighbor who would like more information about St. Joseph School, please feel free to contact me any time. We welcome all students, all abilities, and all faiths to our school. We are proud of our respected reputation throughout the Kansas City Metropolitan area for academic excellence. We are also honored to be in a ministry that is guided by our faith, helping to mold the hearts and minds of our future generation. This is much more important than our high achieving scores in Math, Reading, and Science. At St. Joseph School there is a genuine care and concern for each student. Tell your friends to come check us out!!!
With A Grateful Heart,
Jodie Maddox

Nurse's Corner
UPDATED 1/12/2022!!
The CDC has updated their COVID-19 guidelines for both isolation and quarantine practices. The Johnson County Department of Health and Environment is adopting these guidelines by which we will also abide.
The new guidelines are as follows:
· Those testing positive for COVID-19 should isolate for 5 days. If they are asymptomatic or their symptoms are resolving (along with no fever for 24 hours), they may leave isolation on day 6 as long as they mask well for another 5 days.
This would include wearing a mask at school, including recess and sitting in a designated area during lunch to reduce the risk of exposing others.
· Those with a close contact exposure to a positive case of COVID-19 (applies to unvaccinated individuals) should quarantine for 5 days followed by strict mask use for an additional 5 days when around others.
Those that are fully vaccinated (2 weeks after second COVID-19 vaccine, received less than 6 months ago) or who have contracted COVID-19 within the past 90 days of their most recent exposure, do not need to be quarantined if they are asymptomatic.
We are asking that you keep your children home if they show any signs of illness. Please notify the school nurse for clarification on any diagnosed case of COVID-19 as well as potential testing options that might be available for those exposed to COVID-19.
Please note: If it is recommended that your child be tested for COVID-19 and this request is denied, your child will be assumed positive and will be required to follow the protocol for those testing positive for COVID-19.
