2023
It's almost that time!

As we approach the weekend, and the week of Halloween, we want to remind all to have a safe, fun, spooky and thrilling time. For this reason, I would like to share our approach to Halloween at St. Therese.
Respect for Our Faith: As a Catholic school, our faith is central to our identity. We remind students that dressing up should not promote fear or negativity.
Not every family celebrates Halloween, and that's ok. We look for alternatives in the way of games, and more generally celebrating the fall season.
Students who choose to dress up are asked to do so respectfully. Costumes should be respectful, modest, and free from excessive gore, or inappropriate themes. Costumes should not be a caricature of another culture. Cowboy/cowgirl is fine. Dressing up as a native American (Indian) is not.
Whether you celebrate fright night, or not, all are welcome to join us for our school mass observing All Saints Day, next Wednesday, November 1st, at 8:30 a.m. (That should be a fun morning, eh, parents?)
Have fun. Be safe. Go big. Brush your teeth.
All the best,
Principal Schoning
Free dress tomorrow, Friday October 27th. Please bring $2, or 2 cans of food!

Notes from Kindergarten with Ms. Silva
"We got to go on a special tour of the church with Father Jeff today! We were able to learn about all of the cool things in church, we got to see things that most students don't get to see, and we also talked about Mass expectations since we will be going to Mass tomorrow. Mrs. Ngan took our class to Mass last week, but tomorrow is the start of us going to Mass regularly, every Wednesday. You are more than welcome to join us for Mass in our school's church tomorrow at 8:30am! Kindergarten sits in the front left row (left when facing the stage), and you are more than welcome to sit with your child in a pew behind our class." -Ms. Silva
Virtues Assembly Tomorrow at 1p.m. in the Gym
Join us tomorrow, for the Virtues Awards Ceremony, which is occurring at 1 p.m. in the gym! We will see which St. Therese students have exemplified charity.
Spooky Street Art with Mrs. Radford
"Back in August I photographed some very cool looking Lego street art outside ‘Bricks & Mini figs’ on Sandy. By the powers of instagram a member of the group and I got talking and he kindly offered to give me a few stencils so I could use them for an art project. We decided on a Halloween theme. First students used ink in a spray bottle to create the stencilled design, then they embellished them with paint and Posca pens. I love what the 5th grade students did with these! I send a copy to the street artists and they loved them too!" -Mrs. Radford
