Yulee Middle School
YMS has been busy celebrating Black History Month! One of our students even sketched a portrait of Martin Luther King Jr. Every Friday for the entire month, we will play our radio show game (9 at 9), in which classes compete to answer Black History Month trivia questions based on information from posters around school to earn prizes!
Marathon HIgh
Yulee High School's Marathon High students and teachers ran the Donna Deegan Breast Cancer Half Marathon, and they ran it in some awe-inspiring times. They even had five runners who have run for Marathon High all four years of high school. Go Hornets!
All District High School Honor Band
Lucas Moore and Joci Smith of West Nassau High School were accepted into the All District High School Honor Band.
For the Love of Science Night
Bryceville Elementary hosted its Valentine's Day-themed Science Night, growing love for science in their community.
Spelling Bee
Nassau County School District hosted the County Spelling Bee Wednesday, February 2nd.
The Optimist Club is gracious enough to be the proud sponsor of this exciting event and has been for many years.
Twelve schools participated in the Spelling Bee.

Digital Information Technology

Southside Elementary's Arts Alive students have been busy learning about abstract art.

The Emma Love Hardee Elementary choir performed at the grand opening of the Teddy Bear Playground.
A Sweet Field Trip
Yulee Primary School students took a field trip to Sweet Pete's!
Inventor - Louis Braille
WIldlight Elementary students wrapped up their unit on Solving Problems with Technology by learning about famous inventor Louis Braille, who invented the braille writing system. Students made the braille alphabet, used the braille typewriter to braille their names, and decoded a braille message to learn more about the inventor.
Glowing Goals
Emma Love Hardee students celebrated making their second nine weeks of AR goals with a Glow Party!
Book Club
Second grade at Yulee Primary School held its first book club meeting on Tuesday, January 31. The students read the book, The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl. Students participated in engaging conversations in a small group setting, followed by a craft of making individualized calm-down bottles of their very own! The group looks forward to next month’s read, Freckle Juice, by Judy Blume.
