Back to School Night
A few things...
1) I am not in favor of having BTSN on the first and second days of school. I was under the impression that was a long-standing BMS tradition, but I am happy to change that for next year.
2) I didn't feel that the schedule we used allowed for our non-ELA/Math classes to properly shine, so we can brainstorm future adjustments.
Parents Kahooting with Regina
Dr. Shubert and parents discussing their text lineage
Ashley Lapp exposed parents to Amplify curriculum
Parents in Jane Artman's class justified their thinking with Droodles

Positive Contacts
"Woah, what? Who has time for that? This new principal must think we are sitting around twiddling our thumbs."
I absolutely know you are all very busy and I would not ask you to do something that wasn't worthy.

Be intentional with the students for which you make these calls. Think about the student who is typically quiet, but shared his idea with the class today, or the student who sees a classmate drop belongings in the hallway and stops to offer assistance. It could also be a student who just does the right thing on a consistent basis, or the student who had his head down on Wednesday, but was engaged on Thursday.
If you call and receive a voicemail, please leave a message and offer for the parent to give a return call or e-mail.

Although I do not want to micromanage, I do want to emphasize the importance of these calls. I've set up a Google Classroom for our staff, and there is an log for each month under assignments. Once you go to Google classroom, you will need to enroll in the class. The class code is: s3gbct9.
If you need support making these calls, please reach out to your DL, TL, Barb, counselors or any administrator. We are happy to help!
