This Week in Employee Benefits
February 24th, 2020
How Often Should You Review Your Benefits Program?
Companies need to ensure that their benefits package is in-line with what their employee's needs are. Flextime, childcare support, and wellness opportunities are just a few of the more common benefits employees are expecting to receive from their employers.
Small Businesses Needing Better Benefits
In today's job market, employees are expecting that the company is offering more benefits than just health insurance. This had been a problem for small businesses, who didn't always have the capital to provide rich benefits. Through new HR providers such as TriNet, Zenefits and Gusto, small businesses are able to affordably offer benefits that compare to much larger companies.
Providers Switching Flu Testing Options
Typically, healthcare providers have been using a slower, molecular based testing to determine whether or not patients have the flu. However, the recent trend has been point-of-care tests that can be administered at minute-clinics and pharmacies to receive results and fill prescriptions in minutes. Payment method, accuracy of diagnosis, and speed of diagnosis are all crucial in determining which testing to choose, all leading to an impact in healthcare spending during flu season.
