Tewksbury Elementary Updates
From the Desk of Kathryn Lemerich
Dear TES Families,
As you know, next week will be our last week of school with Thursday, June 17th being an early dismissal for all students.
In this last newsletter of the year, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your unending support this year as we navigated the most challenging of circumstances ever faced in education and possibly in our lifetimes.
I am so proud of all of our students, whether they learned in person or remotely this year, and I want to extend a very special congratulations to the 5th grade students as they move up to Old Turnpike School next year. This was a unique final year at TES, yet they demonstrated such incredible resilience through it all. On behalf of the TES teachers and staff, we are so proud of you, and we wish you much success in your middle school years and beyond!
I wish you all a happy, healthy and relaxing summer, and we can't wait to welcome you back in September for what, we hope to be, a more normal school year for all!
Kathryn Lemerich
Principal

TES 5th Graders Leave their Mark!
Fifth grade students from Ms. Cain's fall class are working to lead an effort for their grade level to leave their mark at TES through positive messaging around our building. They are creating posters (see below) and bookmarks that will be left behind for future students. They also picked a positive quote that will be displayed in the hallway at TES as a reminder of their contributions to the TES community. See their beautiful canvas that they created with Mrs. Wadler below. Thank you 5th graders for leaving your MARK here at TES!
Congratulations to the Tri-County Literacy Council Winners!
All members of Tri-County Literacy Council, a local chapter of the New Jersey Literacy Association, may submit up to 5 pieces of student writing into the "Young Authors' Competition." Teachers from all over Warren, Hunterdon, and Mercer Counties enter this contest. As a student, to be entered in the contest is an honor; to win is a great accomplishment.

Instrument Returns
Thank you for a non-traditional, yet wonderful year of music making here at TES! If not returned, instrument contracts will be automatically extended and monthly charges will continue. We always encourage summer practice!

YMCA Summer Program! It's Back!!
The Hunterdon County YMCA is back for the Summer of 2021! Wendy and Stephanie at the YMCA are so excited to be bringing summer programs to Tewksbury for the month of July! It has been a very long year, and they are planning a great month where kids can run and play and spend lots of time having fun with friends.
The recreation program is for children who will be in grades Pre Kâ8 as of 9/2021. All programs will take place at TES from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM, Monday through Thursday. The cost is $130.00 per week for members and $150.00 per week for non-members. They also have a per-day fee of $40.00.
The YMCA will be running the following weeks: July 5 - 8, July 12 â 15, July 19 - 22 and
July 26 â 29. You can choose any number of weeks you would like. Please email Wendy Crocetti at wcrocetti@hcymca.org for an application. The YMCA staff cannot wait to see you!
That's a Wrap on Spring Clubs!
Spring clubs were a great success! While our clubs are done for the season, we look forward to using the feedback from our students to make decisions about which clubs will be offered in the fall! We can't wait for what's in store in '21-'22!
