Principal Weekly Update

February 18, 2022

Dear Families,

As Family Day approaches, we reflect on our little John Paul I Family that's been created here. This was evident with the success of our Grade 6s Candy Gram initiative for Valentine's Day! Students were lining up with excitement as they purchased candies for some of their classmates, but also friends in other grades and other classes. This lovely initiative brought a smile to everyone's Valentine's Day and made the lollipops taste that much sweeter :)

We hope that you are all able to take the time on Family Day to enjoy it alongside your family in whichever way brings you joy!

This year, ECSD will be asking all families to indicate their intentions for the upcoming school year using an online format as was done last year. Please watch for further communications on this is swift communications as we get more details and timelines from our District office. In the past, our families received a form for completion directly from our school. It is important that all our families complete the online process as soon as they receive notification from ECSD. This information helps our school to begin planning and preparing for the upcoming school year. Having good estimates/projections related to enrollments is important as we begin to plan for staffing and other school needs. Whether you reside within our catchment area or not, we are happy to continue your child(ren)s academic programming for the duration of their elementary schooling. As such, we have committed to reserving a spot for your child to continue their schooling at John Paul I School. However, your confirmed submission online of your intentions will be necessary to finalize our preparations. Thank you for completing your online submission of your intentions as soon as possible upon receiving the notification from our Division.
