Counseling and Guidance
The counseling services at Two Rivers High School are designed to support students with applying academic achievement strategies, managing emotions and applying interpersonal skills, and planning for postsecondary options, whether that is through higher education opportunities, the military, or work force.
We are your students' advocate and here to help transition into high school and prepare them for a successful life after high school.

College Application FAQ
Many of you have started working on applications to college. If you haven't yet, that's okay! The earliest deadlines begin in October, with many early application deadlines in November. Most schools' regular deadlines won't be until early 2023, so there's time if you're still researching and deciding where to apply.
If you have started your applications, you may be wondering how to request transcripts and, if necessary, letters of recommendation. I have attached documents explaining how to request transcripts, and, if needed, how to log in (hint: you do not need a password for Naviance--click SINGLE SIGN ON). Once you have added transcript requests, you can go to the letters of recommendation section to request letters, if required by the colleges. We will also show you this when we visit classes in person. Transcripts will be ready to send in mid/late September.
Additionally, here are some answers to some frequently asked questions:
- Senior class size: 298
- We use weighted GPAs on a 4.0 scale.
- Two Rivers does not use exact class rank. We use a decile rank system, meaning students are grouped into the top 10%, top 20%, etc. Attached to this email is the decile information about the senior class. If decile rank is not an option on an application, you should indicate that our school does not rank students.
If you have any questions, reach out to your counselor for a meeting! We would love to meet with you to help you navigate your plans for next year whether you are applying to college, considering a gap year, joining the military, planning to work, or are unsure of your next steps.

ACP School-Based Mental Health Support
School-Based Services
- Through a grant from the MN Department of Human Services, our staff is able to provide services to students in their home, in the community (“school-linked” program), or in the school itself (“co-located” program). All services are conducted by qualified mental health professionals and practitioners.
- ACP offers services to students in Dakota County partner schools regardless of insurance coverage. We will work directly with the insurance plan on your behalf to answer any questions.
- School-linked and co-located services include individual therapy, family therapy, individual skills training, and family skills training. Our dedicated providers work closely with the child’s family and school to provide collaborative care.
