Safety Drills

We are required to conduct all of our safety drills each semester and have strict parameters as to when they are conducted. Your team will need to complete a reverse evacuation drill and send your time to Kelli by Friday, January 15th at 3:00 pm. Please let Kelli know if you have questions about any of the drills or procedures.

We will recognize our UIL participants with an Ice Cream Sundae Party on Monday afternoon, January 11th and on morning announcements on January 12th. Please send your students who participated this year! Thanks once again to our fabulous coaches, our willing judges, and to Karen Szeryk for coordinating!

Staff Spotlight - September Giese

Where did you grow up?

I was born in Garland, Texas and moved to Ovilla, Texas when I was five. I completed all 12 years of school at Red Oak ISD.

Describe your family.

I am an only child. My mom and dad just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on November 27th! I have been married to Jack for 20 years. He was a professional and collegiate baseball coach and is now a professional baseball agent who travels a lot! We have two daughters that are 10 years apart. Shea is a freshman at OU that aspires to be a doctor. Ellis is in 3rd grade here at Norton. She is a level 3 gymnast who loves to read and draw daily.

What university did you attend?

I graduated from Texas A&M University, 1991

What are your favorite activities?

My favorite thing to do is cycle outside or attend a great yoga or Pilates class! I enjoy helping others and have been a personal trainer for 33 years. I also love a good book and hanging out with Ellis.

If you had $1000 to spend on anything, what would you spend it on?

If I had $1000 to spend on anything I would give half of it to my church and the other half I would buy tickets to the Justin Bieber concert on April 10 for my friends and family J

What is your favorite reality TV show?

I don’t watch TV much, but I do like Property Brothers or any HGTV shows.

If you were not a teacher, what would you be?

If I weren’t a teacher I would be a counselor...or maybe independently wealthy and just hang out in a Pilates/yoga studio everyday!

Happy birthday this week to Lori Dreher, Maria Seid, Michelle Gilbert, and Cindy Harvey!
