Principal's Message
Dear Field Families,
Last week, we had a visit from the fabulous volunteers of Reading is Fundamental. RIF has provided free books for our 2nd graders for over 25 years. We really appreciate the support the RIF volunteers give to our students as they develop their literacy skills. For more information on RIF or to learn how to support their national campaign, please see their site here.
Our school-wide Chinese New Year Celebration will take place on Friday, Feb. 5. Students are invited to wear traditional Chinese dress. Our morning will start with a performance from our own Lion and Dragon dancers. Throughout the day, every class will spend time in our festive venue and participate in a special craft. Special thanks goes out to our parents who have organized this event.
We have more holidays coming up. There is no school on Friday, February 12, and Monday, February 15, in honor of President Lincoln and Presidents' Day; Spring Break is March 14 -18; and finally a staff development day is on March 31.
We have two new staff members on our team. Mr. Jesse Martinez is our new playground supervisor and Mr. Alan Lebeda is our new 4th and 5th grade teacher. Please help me welcome them to our school family.
Thank you,
Ria Apodaca
