Salute to Our Heroes
Hamilton Elementary School
Salute to Our Heroes
Friday, November 9, 2018
9:30 a.m.
We are very fortunate to live in America. As Americans, we have many freedoms. These freedoms are protected by the men and women who have served and are currently serving in the U.S. armed forces—Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Marines and Navy including all the Reserves.
Salute to Our Heroes is Hamilton Elementary’s way of saying thank you to our students’ family members for serving our country. We are excited to honor our Veterans. Students, their Veteran and a guest will be treated to a special performance by the 5th Grade Choir and a breakfast served by our Student Council in the cafeteria. To conclude the morning, all students at Hamilton will recognize the service men and women as the Veterans walk the halls during a patriotic parade.
We would like to include a slideshow of our Veterans. If you have a photograph of your Veteran in uniform and have not submitted a photograph in the past two years, you can email the digital photograph to your child's homeroom teacher.
If your Veteran will be able to attend, please RSVP online at https://goo.gl/forms/Hl2s6p7S0YjN81a83. Due to limited seating and fire marshal regulations, each veteran will only be allowed one guest.
RSVP and photo due by Wednesday, October 31st.
Lifetouch Fall Pictures on October 23rd
Picture Day ID: RW018150Y0
Picture Day is: Tuesday, October 23
All students will be photographed for their school record. If a student is absent or the parent is not satisfied with the portrait, retakes are scheduled for December 4.
Halloween Costumes
Halloween costumes may not be worn to school at any time. Students who wear a costume to school, will be asked to remove the costume, if possible. If necessary, parents will need to come to school with a change of clothes. Thank you for your help!
StuCo Snack Attack!
Hamilton’s first dollar day for Student Council will be a SNACK ATTACK! On Wednesday, October 31st, students can bring in their dollars to purchase snack items such as Lays Potato Chips, Takis, Goldfish, and Cheez-Its as well as water to wash it all down! Each item will be $1.00. During arrival, tables will be set up around the campus, so all students can make their purchase before going to class. Student will then save these items to eat during their class time snack.
For students with allergies, we will also be providing snacks such as peanut free Lays Potato Chips, Cheetos, Doritos and Fritos for students to purchase. We will be sending home a flier on Monday, October 29th for parents to note any student with nurse documented allergies, so the staff members working the tables can assist with an appropriate purchase.

Susan Stevens Crummel, Author Visit
Thank you PTO for having this awesome author, Susan Stevens Crummel, visit our school. Susan performed for PPCD, LS, Pre-K, K and 1st grade. She brought the stories to life through her amazing story telling ability as well as having students dress up as the characters. The children participated in the stories by joining into the voices of the characters. Such a fun experience!
