BSMS Weekly Update

Week of October 5-9

Title One Tech Night

Butner-Stem Middle School is hosting our first Title One Technology Night for families virtually on October 6th at 7:00. This meeting will be virtual. Please see the invite using this link:

New Procedures for Arrival and Dismissal beginning October 12th

We have changed our drop off and pick up procedures for the morning and afternoon due to COVID safety protocols. Please know upfront that morning drop off will look very different this year. Students will not be allowed to be dropped off before 8:00 a.m. Students will be screened from their vehicles beginning at 8:00 a.m. This is due to the safety protocols of social distancing and because we want to ensure children coming to campus are not sick with any symptoms or a fever. Car rider dismissal in the afternoons will occur by using your child’s assigned car tag number. If your child is between two households weekly, please call the school and let us know so that we can make an extra tag for your child.

Backpack Buddies Program

If you would like to participate in our BackPack Buddies program please contact Mrs. Ward. These are available for pickup on Thursdays.

Repaired Chromebooks

If your child had repairs done to their Chromebook and is using a loaner from the school, their repaired Chromebook could be ready for pick-up. Please call the front office to see if your child's computer is ready.

Wednesday Remote Learning Sessions

Each Wednesday, students are expected to report to homeroom/morning meeting at 8:40AM. The remainder of the school day on Wednesdays is used for students to participate in connection sessions with teachers, where they are able to get extra help from teachers as needed. If students do not need additional help, they should be completing and submitting other class assignments. This is not a free day for students.

Packet Pickup Information

BSMS has packet pickup time every Thursday from 11:00 am -7:00 pm. Packet pickup is only for students who have internet issues.

The End of the First Nine Weeks is Approaching

Please make sure you have completed all missing assignments before October 16th. This is the last day of the first nine weeks. Many students have missing assignments which are causing low averages in classes. The teachers are working hard to finish out the nine weeks strong and will be available this week through connection sessions and evening office hours should you have any questions or need help on assignment completion.
