3rd – 5th grade students have been working very hard in science lab, planning their designs for their upcoming projects. We will begin building in the next week or so. Each student group has supplies that are being provided by the science lab, but some students have gone above and beyond and their plans require extra supplies. Different classes are at different stages in the planning process, but supplies need to be brought in as soon as possible.
3rd grade will be constructing a catapult that is able to launch candy pumpkins at least 2 meters. Students may want to bring in popsicle sticks, rubber bands, plastic spoons, water bottle/coke caps or other similar materials.
4th graders are designing a thermos that can maintain the temperature of a hot liquid for an extended time. Students may want to bring in paper, plastic, Styrofoam materials, foil, tape, glass bottles (please be careful and wrap it with newspaper/tissue paper) or other similar materials. Student groups will be required to build the thermos in class – not purchase one. Please don’t send a thermos to class.
5th graders will be creating a light maze using a small laser light and materials that reflect, refract, and transmit light waves. Students may need cereal boxes or other similar sized/shaped boxes, materials that reflect light, lenses that refract light, plastic transparent cups, etc.
The science lab is also running low on pencils and pink erasers and any donations of those items would be deeply appreciated!
Thank you for your support!
