You are receiving this email because you have a child that is enrolled in a virtual school program powered by Advanced Academics. As a parent, you are bound to have questions. So, in an effort to make the transition into the world of virtual learning as easy as possible, we are pleased to welcome you to the APSVA Parent Orientation.


This orientation is designed to help answer all of your questions and to provide you with information about our online resources, policies, and services. We are hopeful that once you have completed this orientation you will have the knowledge and tools necessary to ensure your student's success.

Knowing how your child is doing in his or her courses is important to all parents. We want to make sure that you not only have access to that information 24/7, but know how to interpret it.


With the ROADS Parent Portal you can quickly view your child’s grades, calendar, attendance, progress report, time online, and more!

WHO TO CONTACT FOR HELP

24/7 SUPPORT

TEACHERS AND TUTORS

Your student has not been assigned just one teacher, but instead, has access to multiple teachers and tutors in each subject! We strongly encourage students to reach out to their teachers and ask for help. Teachers are available from 7:00 am-10:00 pm CST, and tutors are available in a variety of subjects after 10:00 pm and on weekends. Our teachers and tutors are ready to assist via:

COUNSELOR

Students have been assigned a counselor who will be assisting them throughout their middle school and high school journey to graduation and beyond. Your student's counselor is Jodie Huber, and you may contact her at:

STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT COORDINATOR

A Student Achievement Coordinator (SAC) will be contacting you and your student frequently throughout the year to ensure that your student is successfully completing his or her courses. Your student's SAC is Brooks McMullan. He will be your primary contact person for any questions or concerns and can be contacted at:



A few reasons you or your student may want to contact an SAC include:


  • To work on developing a plan of action to guarantee that your student stays on target and finishes his or her courses on time
  • To help your student get caught up if he or she falls behind or is struggling with his or her courses
  • To assist your student in setting and achieving his or her academic goals
  • To resolve any questions or difficulties you or your student may have
  • For questions about attendance and truancy
