This week's attendance rate...
Our LVMS campus goal is to reach 98%!!
This week's attendance rate = 97% (getting better)
Attendance: Spring is the time of the year when absences start to pile up. Be sure you are aware of the consequences for your student missing too much school. Our campus goal is to reach 98%. If a student is at school, we receive funding for that student. If they are not in school, we do not receive funding.
Weird, but true, attendance fact: If your student is present for any part of the school day and leaves for a medical appointment, they won't get counted absent for that day as long as they bring a doctor's note. If they are absent for the entire day for a doctor's appointment, it will be counted as an absence.
If you need to talk to us about your child's attendance, including absences, doctor's notes, students needing to leave school early, please call our attendance clerk,monica_kaiser@lagovista.txed.net, 512-267-8300 #2503.

We have successfully completed the last round of STAAR testing. We are happy to report that all of our students worked very hard, and gave the tests their best effort. Our goal for the final weeks of school is to ensure that all students finish strong. Please encourage your child to have a fantastic end to their school year. A special note—Congrats to Cali Navarro for her achievements and being inducted into the NJHS on April 26 (her name was mistakenly left off the first list)!!! We are so proud of her!
Bleacher Report...
Your 7th grade Lago Vista Middle School girls and boys were district CHAMPIONS this past Saturday in Jarrell. Being that this was our first year to incorporate tennis here at the middle school, I feel that our tennis future here in Lago Vista is very bright. These athletes finished strong and I am incredibly proud to have been a part of their success this season.
The 8th Grade girls finished 2nd place, just 4 points behind Jarrell.
We have 5 total DISTRICT CHAMPIONS:
7th Grade Girls’ Singles District Champion: Esther Long
7th Grade Boys’ Singles District Champion: Lucas Lawless
7th Grade Girls’ Doubles District Champions: Leah Coldicott and Grace Coldicott
7th Grade Boys’ Doubles District Champions: David Rague and Trevor Alwell
8th Grade Girls’ Singles District Champion: Haley Nichols
We had many kids finish 2nd and 3rd place as well:
7th Grade Girls’ Doubles: Emily Pieklik and Josey Kannmacher 3rd place
8th Grade Girls’ Doubles: Laine Travis and Presleigh Lopez 2nd place
8th Grade Girls’ Doubles: Anndrea Munoz and Karina Nieto 3rd place
7th Grade Boys’ Doubles: Cody Zepeda and Aiden Panter 2nd place
7th Grade Boys’ Doubles: Seth Collinsworth and Ryan Davis 3rd place
8th Grade Boys’ Doubles: Everest Colvin and Joe Joslin 2nd place
7th Grade Mixed Doubles: Schuyler Burke and Rhett Khalden 2nd place
Again, there is so much to be proud of and I cannot thank the kids and parents enough for all the love and support this season. It was truly an honor to get to work with this talented group of young men and women.
Go Vikings!
stay healthy this spring...
Germs live in noses and mouths. Avoid touching them without a tissue
Cough and sneeze into your elbow, not your hand.
Don’t share any drinks or food
Don’t eat lots of sweets (sodas, desserts, candy.) They put your immune system to sleep!
Wash your hands often… good washing takes about 15 seconds (hum the birthday song)
Eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies to build a germ fighting immune system.
Get plenty of rest - our bodies heal themselves when we sleep
