Principal Lewis' Sunday Update for the week of 9/20/21

Sunday Call for week of September 20th, 2021

Good evening Sierra Madre Families, this is Mrs. Lewis, your principal. Thank you for your diligence in screening your kiddos at home, as it has made a big impact on learning. Please remember that when you come for pick up and drop off, please stay in your car and only have your kiddo get in and out.

Here are the announcements for this week:

Monday, September 20th we will have our BRAVO morning assembly outside for students. Please make sure your kiddo is on-time for school between 7:35am-7:50am.

Tuesday, September 21st we will have our first English Language Advisory Committee(ELAC) virtual meeting at 8:30am. Please come learn about how we are working to support our English Learners at both SME and SMMS. Click on the link in the SMORE to join.

Thursday, September 23rd will be our first Playday with the theme of crazy hair. Your kiddo is allowed to bring a non-electronic toy to school to play with during their extended recess time, and be creative with a “crazy hair-do”! Then, Thursday evening, we will have a virtual parent education evening starting at 5pm, with sessions for you to choose from. Please check out the session descriptions in the SMORE and decide on which three you would like to join.

Friday, September 24th is a pupil free day, so no school! SME staff will be engaged in professional development activities focused on anti-racism.
