Mrs. Lee's Class Newsletter
Week of February 17, 2020
What's Happening?
It was wonderful talking to everyone this week. Thank you for coming to meet with me.
We still have a few students who need permission to attend the Fox Theater Fieldtrip. Please visit mypaymentsplus to make arrangements for your child to attend.
Log reading minutes on Beanstack.
In this week's Friday Folder:
Fifth Grade Events on Mypaymentsplus
1. Field Trip to Fox Theater (March 9th)
2. Field Trip to the GA Aquarium (May 14th)
3. Finale and t-shirt order
More info on the two field trips are coming soon. You can go ahead and complete the information for both on mypaymentsplus. You do not have to wait for the permission slips. We will be taking two chaperones per class to the Fox Theater in March. If you are interested in joining us, please let me know. Due to space at the Fox, we will not be able to have more than two parents per class.
Please take care of the t-shirt order first. We would like to have these printed and ready for our March trip.

Math (Mrs. Lee's Class): We are learning about volume of rectangular prisms.
Science (Mrs. Lee's Class): We are starting my favorite unit: Electricity and Magnetism! We will start with learning the difference between static electricity and current electricity. The retake opportunity for the last test will be on Wednesday, 2/26. Please have your child complete a summative retake ticket if they are participating.
Social Studies: We have finished our Cold War unit. Students have created posters to summarize their learning. The unit test will be on Thursday.
Reading: We are continuing to work on improving our comprehension skills. This week we are focusing on identifying main ideas in texts as well as how the author supports these ideas.
