Junior Year Future Planning
Junior year is a very important planning year. Don't worry, we are here to help!
In December, all juniors will be meeting with us in groups during resource time. Important information will be provided on the following topics: Apprenticeships, Wisconsin Technical Colleges, UW Colleges, Wisconsin Private Colleges, Financial Aid and Scholarships. This is a preliminary broad introduction for our juniors designed to get them thinking about the wide variety of educational and work options available after graduation. All juniors will be taking home a green folder filled with information. Please ask them to see it!
In February, we will host a Future Planning evening presentation. This presentation will begin with a brief counselor/teacher presentation on the PWHS 2019-2020 courses and registration process. Immediately following, College representatives from the technical colleges, UW System and Wisconsin Private College system will be presenting on admission policies and procedures. Resources on each system will be available and both counselors and college representatives will be on hand to answer questions throughout the evening. We encourage students and parents to attend!
In March, all Juniors and their parents will be invited to attend an Individual Junior Meeting. This will be an important time to review each junior’s individual transcripts, senior year course selection, and unique post high school plan. Together, we will explore options, review planning and discuss the unique timing of each higher education system. These meetings will take place in March and April. Keep a look out for your personal parent invitation!
A wealth of information is headed your way! In the meantime, we are a phone call or email away. Please feel free to connect with us as soon as questions arise. We are always here to help.
Save The Date - High School Course Selection & Future Planning Night!
