Principal's Update

The parking lot traffic has been much better this week, the extra focus on safe driving is appreciated.


I made an announcement that the cars parked illegally after school will be towed if it continues. There were several cars, driven by our after school athletes, that were parked in the lot and were blocking pick up traffic after school. The next day there were no cars parked in the lot and hopefully this will continue.


We had a lockdown and barricade drill yesterday in conjunction with SHS police and the drill was very successful. This drill was scheduled several months ago and was beneficial for us in order to be prepared for any situation. Thank you to the Strongsville Police department for their continued support.

OUTSTANDING INDIVIDUALS RECOGNIZED WITH THE 2022 OHIO PTA ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

Strongsville PTA held their annual ‘Founder’s Day’ celebration last night and recognized ten individuals who have made significant contributions of their time and talents to Strongsville City Schools. Each PTA chapter recognized a deserving honoree. This year’s Ohio PTA Achievement Award winners are:

SHS CHEERLEADER & MASCOT TRYOUTS + MANDATORY PARENT MEETING

SHS Cheerleading and Mascot Tryout Clinics for the 2022-23 school year will be held April 4th - April 7th from 4:00pm - 6:00pm each day. Tryouts will follow on April 8th from 5:00pm - 9:00pm. Please note: prior to tryouts, there will be a mandatory Parent Meeting on March 28th at 6pm in the SHS auditorium. Strongsville High School will be hosting a Spring Craft Fair on Saturday, March 26th from 9am - 2pm. Come shop from over 60 local crafters & vendors who will have handmade and unique gifts! Admission is only $1. All proceeds from the event will benefit SHS Cheerleading.

OHSAA WINTER SPORTS TOURNAMENTS - MUSTANGS ACCOMPLISHMENTS

SHS Swimmers Earn All-Ohio Honors:

Congratulations to four members of our SHS Swim Team, who were named All-Ohio last weekend based on their finish in the State Meet. The 4x200 IM Medley relay team of Nick Begany, Kyle Cononico, Conlan Mayberry, and Gibson Painter finished 14th overall at the state meet with a time of 1:36.82. It was the relay team’s best time of the season. Additionally, Nick Begany placed 15th overall in the 200 IM and 16th overall in the 100 Breast Stroke.


Nine SHS Wrestlers Advance to District Tournament:

Congratulations to the 9 SHS wrestlers who have advanced to the District Tournament this weekend in Perrysburg: Ray Lewis, 113 lbs. (Junior) / Kenny Lambert, 126 lbs. (Senior) / Dominic Grecol, 132 lbs. (Freshman) / Chris Scarvelli, 144 lbs. (Junior) / Anthony Grecol, 150 lbs. (Senior) / Nabeel Masleh, 165 lbs. (Senior) / Hayden Davis, 175 lbs. The Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band qualified for State contest by receiving Superior Ratings at the Ohio Music Education Large Group Contest at Olmsted Falls High school this past weekend.

The Strongsville Athletic Boosters - 2022 Spring Calendar Raffle



"The Strongsville Athletic Boosters is kicking off the 2022 Spring Calendar Raffle this week. All proceeds benefit our Student athletes and teams!


Tickets are $10 each. Tickets will be sold in March, ending Tuesday March 22nd. A daily winner will be picked every day in April. First winner announced April 1, 2022. Students involved in the instrumental music programs at SHS will be selling coupons for Blizzards at $5.00 (regular price of $5.29) or cakes at $20.00 (regular price of $25.99). The SHS Dance team entertained the PTA at this year's founders day. The team did multiple numbers and displayed what has made them once of the best dance programs in the state.

Choir shines at the OMEA competition!

Both Treble Choir and Cantorum performed stellar performances last night at OMEA large group contest.
They both recieved Superior ratings qualifying them for state.
Today we head to Solon with Showchoir. Thank you for allowing these wonderful students the joy of performing again.
