Picking Up Student Materials From Seven Hills:
- remaining school supplies
- personal headphones
- student portfolios, writing notebooks, and other collections of student work from the year
- consumable workbooks - these could be used for practice throughout the summer
- recorders
- art portfolios
- end of year awards
Some items you might need to return to school include:
- library books

At this time, we are not asking that chromebooks and hotspots be returned. Our hope is to allow you to keep those over the summer for summer enrichment and summer school. If you are moving and leaving the district, you will need to return the chromebook and hotspot.
This Week is Teacher Appreciation Week!
Thank you PTA for organizing this and the "Grab and Go" meal for our staff this week!
2020 - 2021 Class Placement Parent Feedback Opportunity Ends Today:
Email to Seven Hills Families Sent April 28, 2020
Seven Hills Families,
Student class placement is one of the most important processes teachers and administrators work through every year. Countless hours are spent forming classes in which all learners have an opportunity to grow both socially and academically. As we begin our process for the 2020 - 2021 school year, parents are invited to share any information they believe might have an impact when considering student placement. Parent information is just one of the many factors considered when determining class placement. Even in our current remote learning environment, we are able to make decisions we believe will set all students up for success next year!
In the past, parents have had an opportunity to submit a letter to me about their child and considerations for the next school year. This year, we have moved the feedback opportunity to a digital platform. A Google Form has been created, allowing parents the same opportunity to share important information with me about their student. Details about the student, individual learning style, attributes of preferred classroom environment for success, and previous positive learning experiences should be clearly articulated. Factors/situations/environments to avoid based on past experiences would also be appropriate. Please note, this is not an opportunity to request teachers. Specific teacher requests will not be considered. If you have multiple children, you will need to complete a new form for each child.
Submitting student information for class placement is not a requirement. You have our assurance that every effort will be made to appropriately place every child. If you feel you have important information to share as we begin to work through this process, you will need to complete the survey on or before May 4, 2020. The form will not be live after May 4.
Thank you for your continued support as we work to ensure our Star Leaders are set up for continued success at Seven Hills Elementary. If you have specific questions regarding this process, please contact me at kblackburn@nisdtx.org or 817-215-0710.

A Message From the Texas Education Agency:
The Texas Education Agency has asked school districts across the state to share information about health and safety information related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Below is an introductory letter, and going forward our school district will have links to TEA resources in messages and newsletters.
Though we are apart right now for our health and safety, we must continue to support one another as a community, and right now we must work together to fight COVID-19. In order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we will be providing important guidance as recommended by the state of Texas.
This guidance is based on what scientists know about how to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and it is our hope that you will continue doing all you can to follow these practices and share them with your friends and family.
Thank you for what you are doing to educate your children at home and all the efforts you're making to keep your family healthy and safe. We know this is a difficult time. If we stand apart as a community during this stretch and continue following the public health practices, we will be back together soon.
