College & Career news for the month of December
The CHS Career Fair is right around the corner...
Chesaning High School students will have the opportunity to explore the following Career Pathways:
- Arts and Communication Careers in this path are related to the humanities and performing, visual, literary, and media arts.
- Business, Management, Marketing & Technology Careers in this path are related to the business environment.
- Engineering/Manufacturing & Industrial Technology Careers in this path are related to technologies necessary to design, develop, install, and maintain physical systems.
- Health Sciences Careers in this path are related to the promotion of health and treatment of disease.
- Human Services Careers in this path are related to economic, political, and social systems.
- Natural Resources & Agriscience Careers in this path are related to agriculture, the environment, and natural resources.
- Skilled Trades A skilled trade is any occupation that requires a particular skill set, knowledge, or ability. It is usually a hands-on job, but skilled trades are found in every career cluster.
- Military The armed forces consists of six service branches: the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and Coast Guard.
Each grade will get 45 minutes to talk to various businesses to learn more about their career interests. Students will then complete an assignment reflecting what they have learned at the career fair.

FAFSA

You will need your Social Security Number to create your FSA ID. You will use your FSA ID to login to your FAFSA account as well as to sign and submit your FAFSA.

Complete your college applications!Ensure that your test scores and transcripts were sent to the proper schools. The transcript request form can be found here.
If you are headed into the Skilled Trades, familiarize yourself with application windows. Talk with the College/Career Center about businesses looking to hire students & pay for their training!
January

Continue to work on scholarship applications.The Shiawassee Community Foundation and Saginaw Community Foundation scholarships are due on January 31st and February 15th, respectively.
The Local Scholarship Application will be available in January. An outline of the Local Scholarship requirements can be found here.

The Saginaw Career Complex will be at CHS to present to the 10th graders who sign up to see the program.
