St. Anthony of Padua
The Catholic Schools Week 2023 Issue
St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School Celebrates Catholic Schools Week!
Our theme to celebrate Catholic education is: “Catholic Schools: Faith. Excellence. Service.” This message encompasses our core values and emphasizes the vibrancy, dynamics, and excellence that exist within our school. Not only are we teaching students to become future servant leaders, faith-filled disciples, and enriched citizens, we, as educators, are growing with them. We are all lifelong learners, and these shared qualities make our school succeed!
Each daily event will focus on an element that makes Catholic education what it is: something very special! Catholic schools have a specific purpose to form students to be good citizens of the world, to love God and neighbors, and to enrich society through examples of faith. Through their dedication and commitment, they make our school an excellent example of how “Catholic Schools are Communities of Faith, Excellence, and Service”.
Introducing Penny Wars... Let the Games Begin!
Our Theme For Catholic Schools Week: Faith, Excellence and Service
Monday, January 29, 2024- Faith. Excellence. Service.: In Our Community
Monday of Catholic Schools Week gives us the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our connection as a community.
- Today is Team/Twin Day: students are invited to show their sense of community by dressing up in their favorite team wear OR dressing as a twin, triplet, or even a team.
- Penny Wars begins!
Students are the reason Catholic schools exist, and Tuesday of Catholic Schools Week is the day devoted to them. It is the day we celebrate them and encourage them on their path to becoming well-rounded, faith-filled individuals who are devoted to the service of their families, their communities, and the Church.
- Today we celebrate our students - all are invited to wear the “free dress” of their choice! Please be sure to follow our “free dress” school policies.
- Afternoon Activity: All classes will enjoy a movie of their choice and/or a pizza party!
- Our students will also be rewarded with a “NO homework night!”
Wednesday, January 31, 2024- Faith. Excellence. Service.: In Our Nation
Today is “National Appreciation Day for Catholic Schools.” This is an important day in communities across the country as our government shows their support of Catholic schools and recognizes the positive impact that Catholic schools have throughout our nation. This is our day to remind Americans everywhere that Catholic schools provide a great service in today’s world.
- Today students are invited to celebrate by dressing up by wearing their red, white, and blue socks and ties. We will let our Stars and Stripes shine today!
- All Catholic Schools Mass at 9:30 AM. This year's mass will be held at St. Francis De Sales. 8th grade students will attend mass in person. Our Pre-K through Seventh grade students will enjoy mass here like normal.
Thursday, February 1, 2024- Faith. Excellence. Service.: Through Our Vocations
Today is set aside to recognize all those who serve God through a variety of vocations. Service to God can take many forms through clergy and lay people.
Today is Career Day- Dress for Success! What is your dream job? Today’s the day to wear your career minded outfit and show off what you would like to be in the future. If you can dream it, you can be it!

Friday, February 2, 2024- Faith. Excellence. Service.: With Our Faculty and Staff
