Christmas in the Dominican Republic by Breawna
The christmas Season
Along with the many Hispanic traditions, the Dominican Republic has many unique traditions. The Christmas season begins at the end of October and ends on New Years Day. In the weeks before Christmas day people will exchange small gifts called Angelitos.
Celebrations
Musicians are called pericos pipiaos will sing and play the merengue. Carolers do what is called Aquinaldos where they travel fleets from house to house and are expected to come inside for an informal party. This is also the time of renewal; families clean their houses, throw out old things, and give their houses a new coat of paint.
