Sequiota Is Truly The Best Place To Be!!

Thank you for all you did to prepare for Open House! The school looked great (Thank you Glenn & Rayma for making everything so clean & shiny), and your classrooms and the hallways looked awesome! Walking through the hallways, stopping by your rooms and watching you interact with our families was such a proud moment for me. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of this team-it is SO great to be an Indian!

Please send me the number of families that attended Open House. Please include the number of families that attended out of your total number of students. Example 23/24-Thank you!

How Full Is Your Bucket?

In chapter 4, Tom Rath shares a story about an overflowing bucket. In life, we all face major challenges at one time or another but our responses to those difficult events and our emotional state are much more important. If our buckets are consistently being filled, this will allow us to not only survive those challenges but to thrive in the face of a challenge. Filling someone's bucket is more important than you may be able to imagine. Regular bucket filling CAN increase someone's positive emotions.

I have seen lots of "drops" in buckets-keep it up! Feel free to do the "Bucket Fill" as you fill buckets in the hallway-we have cameras now :)!

Great teachers focus on students first, with a broad vision that keeps everything in perspective.

It's easy to say, "Put kids first," and "Make every decision based on what is best for students," but not all teachers manage to do so. The BEST teachers think about how building decisions affect the entire school, not just their classroom. This can be hard at times. This week I would challenge you to remember what matters.

One of my favorite Todd Whitaker quotes, "One of the best things about being a teacher is that teaching matters and makes a difference. What makes teaching hard is that it matters every day." Focusing on kids and putting them first will help you make the right decisions every day.
