SHMS Weekly Info
February 10th to 14th
Good Evening Stone Hill Students, Parents, and Staff,
Congratulations to all our students who competed in our 4th Annual Battle at the Hill VEX Robotics competition this weekend. Our Stingrays had an amazing showing and came away in the top spots. A special thanks to Mr. Kaylor for putting this tournament together and to all the community volunteers who made this event possible.
To commemorate Black History Month at Stone Hill Middle School, we will be showcasing influential African Americans daily during Advisory along with other activities. PTO is also sponsoring an essay contest that will feature 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners from each grade level. The winners will also have their essays on display. The essay topic is the following: Imagine a historical influential African American person is brought back to life, who is it? What is their significance in history? And what would be their favorite mobile app of today to influence the world and why? These essays should not exceed 600 words and need to be submitted to the front office by Tuesday, February 18th at 3:30 p.m.
The February PBIS word of the month is Empathy. We will be recognizing students during the month of February who are demonstrating empathy as our Students of the Month!
