Boletín Mensual ~ Monthly Newsletter
¡Hola! ~ Hello!
We have just completed a month of school! As we continue to work on routines and procedures, students are engaged with academics and learning to be in school again. I know these are challenging times and there is uncertainty about health, safety and academics. We are striving each day to help each student to stay as health as possible by constantly reviewing building procedures following district and the department of health guidelines.

Please communicate with the teachers regarding bringing a treat for birthdays. Because of severe allergies, we are asking families to not send food or drinks to school neither from the store nor home. Families can give, for example, pencils, erasers, books, etc.
If a change needs to be made of how a student normally goes home, please contact the office and/or email teachers before 2:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Wednesdays notify the school by 12:30. The office cannot make changes after this time. An approved family member needs to call the school to make the change.
We ask that you try to keep a consistent schedule as much as possible. This helps students to know how they are going home each day and help to make sure they get to the right place each day.
If your child is out sick you will need to talk to the healthroom assistant before your child can return to school. This check-in allows for the assistant to review any, if necessary, paperwork and ask any follow-up questions to help make sure students can return to class.
When you arrive to the school please check-in with the office first. They will work with the healthroom assistant to ensure she is available, protect student and family privacy and that there are no sick students in the room.
If a student is absent because of sickness please notify the office and the healthroom assistant Alexandra Lopez, alexandralopez@mvsd320.org
To better support social distancing while eating, all students are eating in the classroom. Eating in the classroom allows for more social distancing and students facing one way while they eat without masks on. Lunches are being delivered to the classrooms and teachers are distributing plated food to students.
Máscaras ~ Masks
Wearing masks in schools is a requirement for all of us. It is also important to wear them effectively (covering nose and mouth). Masks have helped us reduce the spread of COVID in our schools. We have had over 150 students and staff in MVSD (out of about 8,000 people) get sick with COVID. Only three of these cases were spread in our schools. Masks, staying home when sick, good ventilation and physical distancing as much as possible have helped us reduce the spread of COVID at school. Please continue to do your part by wearing your mask effectively while in school.
Acosamiento / Intimidación / Abuso Harassment ~ Intimidation / Bullying
