Mrs. Johnson was chosen for the Star of Excellence Award through the Tuscarawas County Board of DD. We appreciate all that she does for Porter and the rest of our students!

This award is given to a staff member in a local school district in Tuscarawas County who demonstrates leadership in the field of developmental disabilities by working to improve results for students with disabilities. The staff member who is nominated for this award promotes partnerships and collaboration, provides excellent in-person student instruction and support, and provides continuous educational services to students in their local school district and the Starlight School Specialized Service Program (a.k.a. Outreach Program).

Top team

Ashley Burcher was nominated as our Top Team Member for November. Her team has stated that she is caring and kind with all of the students at the Middle School but especially supportive of the student that she works with mostly throughout her day. Mrs. Burcher is out right Layla's favorite person!!
