A "MOOC" is a massive online open course made available online to a wide variety of participants.
Interactive Learning - All Online!
This is a HIGHLY interactive experience that will incorporate multiple channels of participation from YouTube Live videos, a Twitter chat component, a Facebook group, and blogging.
Breakdown of the Work Involved
If you miss the original YouTube Live session, you will be able to watch the recorded version or listen to the podcast.
- Weekly YouTube Live sessions at 7pm (dates vary during the week) (5 total)
- Weekly Twitter Chats every Wednesday night at 8pm CST (5 total)
- Weekly Blogging reflection on new learning, application to teaching and learning, and your next steps to implement in your practice. You will have to respond with comments to at least two other posts by your colleagues.
- Weekly Readings following the chapters/4 parts of the book Innovator's Mindset
- Face to Face 1 hour reflection meeting April 5th 4:30-5:30 in the PDC.
NOTE: No credit will be provided or pay unless every aspect is complete including participating in the final face to face day. If you miss this final day, you will have to have an alternate follow up.

- Sign up for the course on George Couros' page.
- Register on My Learning Plan.
- Once you sign up on MLP, we will add you to our D68 Innovator's Mindset Blog hosted by Google Sites!
- Share that you are joining to the #IMMOOC hashtag on Twitter (good time to check that you have a professional Twitter account to use) by sharing a photo of you with the book! This will enter you into a prize drawing!
- Join the Facebook group.
- Subscribe to the Innovator's Mindset YouTube Channel.

How many Internal University credits will I receive by completing this course?
- 1 Internal University credit will be presented to all who successfully complete the course requirements.
What is the cost for those who want to attend for Internal University credit?
- $110 per person per credit hour
How many CPDUs will I receive?
- 16 hours of CPDUs will be available
Can I get paid the hourly rate if I want to attend but don't want Internal University credit?
- Staff choosing not to receive credit will be paid $14 per hour for each of the hours of the course requirements at the conclusion of the course.
