Eucharistic Revival Update
OCTOBER 2022
Blessings on the Feast of St. Francis!
With the Fall season underway and many churches returning to a more normal schedule of offerings, we have many updates for the Eucharistic Revival on both the local and national levels. Read on to find out more and please take the time to click on the link to our new Adoration schedule around the diocese. We have designed it using resources such as bulletins and websites at your parishes but we also know that schedules are constantly changing. PLEASE look for your parish by clicking the link, review the listing and contact Leslie Barkin in the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis if any changes need to be made.
New on the EUCHARISTICREVIVAL.DOR.ORG website
We are pleased to invite you to visit an Adoration schedule that has been categorized by county. This schedule will help the faithful to find opportunities for Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament close to home or will allow groups to create a pilgrimage experience! Simply click on the town within each county to find the details of each offering. We ask that parish secretaries and pastors review their parish listings to be sure that our listing is accurate. Please contact us with changes. Once edits have been made, we will be creating QR code posters that you can download and use in your communities to advertise Adoration opportunities! Our calendar of Opportunities Around the Diocese is Really Growing! Take the time to visit this link to learn about the wide variety of options around the diocese. And, be sure to contact Mark Capellazzi in our office if you have not listed your event yet! We are excited about all the many ways our parishes are nurturing the faithful during this renewal! Below are some highlights. Visit this link to find more! https://eucharisticrevival.dor.org/opportunities-around-the-diocese/
A Special Adoration and Mass Offering on All Souls Day!
This event, sponsored by Monroe West parishes will take place at the chapels at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery, offering a peaceful opportunity for prayer and worship as we remember the Communion of Saints.
Excellent Speaker series offered by St. Paul's in Webster
The event begins with a Mass with Bishop Matano on October 16 and then offers a presentation on the Eucharist each month, November through May. Click on the flyer to visit the parish website for full details!
Eucharistic Revival Retreat with Fr. Stephen Dominic Hayes, OP
Cayuga and Tompkins Counties October 22-26, 2022
The opportunities for Mass and Eucharistic Adoration will rotate through the parishes in Auburn, and around Cayuga Lake! Contact the parishes in the East Deanery for details on this exciting event with a National Eucharistic Preacher!
BE A WITNESS MASS: AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOUNG ADULTS IN YOUR PARISH
Each of us must contemplate our vocation in life and discern the path we will pursue. For young adults, this period of discernment can be especially intense. Please encourage young adults to join us at Sacred Heart Cathedral for an evening of peace, prayer, and fellowship. There will be an opportunity for both Mass and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament as a special young adult offering for the Eucharistic Revival and in celebration of National Vocations Week. Those parishes that have young adult ministries are encouraged to attend as a group and meet other young adults in the diocese. Food trucks will be available after Mass and prayer! This will be a great opportunity for young adults to gather with Bishop Matano! Please join us and register in advance! To register for the gathering, click here. For more information, email Mark at Mark.Capellazzi@dor.org
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Our High School Retreats, entitled Source and Summit, have been scheduled for March 4, 2023. One will be in the Southern Tier at St. Catherine of Siena, Ithaca and one will be in Monroe County at Our Mother of Sorrows in Greece. These retreats designed around the Eucharistic Revival will be open to youth from all parishes in the diocese and will be staffed by two retreat teams. If you have a heart for the young people of our diocese and would like to help create a special day that connects them to the love of Jesus Christ, through the Eucharist, please consider joining our Southern or Northern Diocesan Retreat Teams! We would especially like priests and deacons to get involved! Please contact Leslie.Barkin@dor.org or Mark.Capellazzi@dor.org in the Office of Evangelization and Catechesis.
