February 25th CCA Chapel
Mrs. Patterson's 3rd Grade class opened chapel with pledges to the American flag, Christian flag and Bible before singing songs and ending in prayer. Two testimonies were given by Senior, Jack Wright and 3rd Grader, Izzy Dennis. Afterward, CCA students, faculty, and staff were divided into prayer circles.
Mr. Patterson, who is Pastor at Tebo Baptist Church, and CCA's high school Bible Teacher, lead the Prayer of Adoration (Jeremiah 29:11-13), Prayer of Confession (Revelation 4:1-11), Prayer of Thanksgiving (Isaiah 41:8-13), and Prayer of Supplication (1Thessalonians 5:12-23). After each prayer by him, students in each circle took time to popcorn pray for the things that Mr. Patterson mentioned.
According to Dr. Larry Taylor, ACSI President, the ACSI Day of Prayer is an annual event that advances Christ-centered education by advocating through prayer. The theme verse for this year was taken from Philippians 4:6-7, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Larry goes on to say that, "in our theme verse for this year's ACSI Day of Prayer, Paul was trying to teach the church at Philippi that contentment will never be found in circumstances, but only in Jesus Christ."
CCA hopes that everyone can find time to pray daily to the Lord. Not only for the peace that He can provide in our everyday lives, but also for who God is, for the salvation He has provided in Christ, to thank Him for our blessings, confess our sins, ask for repentance and for His will to be done.
