Principal's Message
Thank you for an awesome week with fantastic students last week. I was great to see you come out to our MAP Parent night and coffee with the Counselors last week. Map testing is an extremely important component of the individualized instructional strategies for all of our students. Please be sure to analyze the data that went home with your student last week. If you have questions related to MAP testing please reach out to Mrs. Gordon at Karen_Gordon@ccpsnet.net
Tomorrow is Fall picture day! Picture packets went home last week. Checks for pictures should be made out Carver Middle School.
Eighth graders will be taking the PSAT Wednesday, 10/16/19. If you are an eighth grade parent please ensure that your student gets plenty of rest and eats breakfast Wednesday morning.
Please join us this Tuesday for our Pink Out Game to support Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Coach Daniels assured me that our undefeated Lady Cougars have something special in store and I can't wait to see it!
Thank you very much for your support and have a great week!

Message from Nurse Natalie
Hello Carver Family-
As I am writing this note to you, it still feels like summer outside, but we are half way through September and as the seasons change students who suffer from allergies and/or asthma may require emergency medication at school. Please if you have not done so already, provide the clinic with an up to date health service plan and emergency medication if needed. Copies of health plans can be found on the CCPS website via the family> health and safety > forms link:
Each school year an updated health plan is needed. If your student lives with seizures, diabetes, or any other health concern that may required treatment at school, please make sure to provide that information to the school clinic also.
THANK YOU PARENTS, I am happy to report that Carver Middle is 100% compliant with our Tdap requirement for 7th graders!
As I continue to review all immunizations for all students in all grade levels you may be receiving a letter from me in the mail. Some students may be missing a final dose of of ANOTHER required vaccine such at a final polio or Hepatitis B vaccine. Immunizations are an important and required part of school. So if you receive a letter from me please take it to your child's primary care doctor or the local health department for follow up. If their is a reason your child can or should not received a certain vaccine please call me to discuss. I strongly encourage all families to speak with your health care providers about getting the yearly Flu vaccine, as flu season has begun.
Finally, please remember to encourage HAND WASHING with your students! Hand washing is the best way to reduce the spread of germs and illness.
If you have any questions or concerns, don't hesitate to call me! Se Habla Espanol tambien!
Thank you and Be Well-
Nurse Natalie
