God Helps Me
Kids are learning "God Helps Me" as they learn about how He fed the Israelites in Exodus 16-17. I don't know about you, but sometimes it's easier for me to believe that for other people than it is to believe it for myself. Remember, that the Lord's promises to us are personal. He's not just all-powerful & all-knowing, but He also cares intimately about you!
What do you need God's help with? Sometimes the biggest obstacle to receiving His help is that we try to provide for ourselves. We rely on our own strength to be able to fix things and don't realize our need for Him. We forget that we have access to the One who holds all the power and that He delights in providing for us. Maybe you read this story in Exodus and identify with the Israelites as they try to store up manna for the future even though the Lord has clearly told them that He'll provide exactly what they need for each day. They were scheming and trying to find solutions to their own perceived problems when all along the Lord had a plan to help them.
So we say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid." -Hebrews 13:6
Reflect:
- What do you need the Lord's help with?
- Are there any obstacles in the way of you receiving that help? (Have you asked Him? Are you too busy trying to help yourself? Do you believe that He wants to help you, even if it might not look like what you think?)
- Let's pray together with our teams this week to ask the Lord for help!
