The Eagle Express
THE NEWS YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR THE WEEK OF February 1-5
MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Howdy Eagles!
So much has happened in just the last week, it's hard to keep up! Let me try to give you a run-down of a few of the things that we had going on around campus -
Academy Fair, Financial Aid night, Diamonds & Saphires dance performance, scholarship fair, FFA stockshow, TAFE State Conference, Mock Trial State Conference, voter registration, boys/girls, basketball, JROTC tree mapping, boys/girls wrestling, PALS National Conference, livestock/wildlife judging, robotics prep for FRC, HOSA Competition, football banquet, Colorguard competition, boys/girls soccer, Akins' speech/debate tournament, softball, baseball, track....WHEW!
Oh, and don't forget the 3,600 classes that are taught across campus each week!
Needless to say, the spring semester is fast and furious. I hope you all take the opportunity to attend one of the many extracurricular activities that happen each week. Our students love seeing their teachers show up to support them. It strengthens the student/teacher relationship and will pay dividends in the classroom...guaranteed.
Speaking of paying dividends - one opportunity that I failed to mention on the agenda for Feb. 15th - we are extremely lucky to have Jason Littlefield with us that afternoon for a Mindfulness training. In the middle of spring semester chaos, it's important to take the time to center ourselves and maintain a healthy outlook on our mission. I will send out an amended agenda later this week.
I hope you all have a great week!
