PCMS Presents Moana Jr.

The PCMS Drama Club will present Disney’s Moana, Jr. on March 24th at 7:00 p.m. and March 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the PHS Auditorium.

Adapted from the 2016 Disney animated film, Moana Jr. features all the beloved songs from the film, written by Tony, GRAMMY, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Mark Mancina, including “How Far I’ll Go,” “Shiny,” and “You’re Welcome.” This thrilling and heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod Maui embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie as both learn to harness the power that lies within. With empowering messages of bravery and selflessness, Moana Jr. is sure to bring out the hero within each of us.

Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door.

First Church in Pembroke Steeple Lighting

First Church in Pembroke


The Church Steeple Lighting Program was established many years ago as an opportunity for anyone who has any connection to First Church in Pembroke or the community to memorialize family, friends, or loved ones for any occasion. Sponsorship of memorial lighting is reserved on a weekly basis - Sunday to Saturday. A donation for one week is gratefully accepted to help with the lighting of the steeple.


If you would like to participate in this program, don't hesitate to contact joellenstowers@yahoo.com or the FCIP Facebook page, or the link on the church website. First Church is looking forward to hearing from you.

The sessions starts 4/25 at the high school. It's 5:45 - 6:45 pm for 6 weeks.

It is PTFC registration time!! If you register before May 3rd you will receive a discount of $50. After you will incur the additional $50 fee.

Health and Wellness

Health and Wellness Market


Pembroke Public Schools' Wellness Committee is seeking vendors for its Health and Wellness Market on Saturday, May 6, 2023. The Market will be held outside in the parking lot at Pembroke High School from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. The event is rain or shine (tents and tables are encouraged). There is no fee associated with participation, other than a suggested donation to PTAD (Pembroke TItans Against Drugs).


Suggested vendors include yoga, massage, nutrition, bee products, kombucha, pet products, essential oils,plants,flowers, handmade soaps,chiropractic care,physical therapy, food trucks or local farms.

The Ultimate Library Road Trip

April 18 - 29

Find adventure at local SAILS libraries! Visitors can collect stamps on their Road Trip map at participating libraries while exploring what makes each town unique. Say "Hello!" to the bearded dragon at the Millicent Library, take a picture with Norton Library Park's "Once Upon a Time" statue, or stop by your own Pembroke Public Library to help create a unique sticker mosaic. April Teen Take & Make: Cotton Candy

Available beginning April 1st while supplies last

We know teens are busy with school, work, chores, and more so we're giving you an opportunity to craft on your own time. Pick up a Craft Kit in the YA Lounge and create a cotton candy cone using tissue paper and markers!


Storytime

Mondays and Tuesdays at 10:30am

Toddlers (ages 2 to 5) and their caregivers can enjoy an interactive storytime with songs, dances, games, and stories that encourage language development and social skills. Each themed storytime is followed by a craft.


Baby Lapsit

Thursdays, April 6, 20, and 27 from 10:30-11:00am

Designed for babies and toddlers from 6 to 24 months, Lapsits are a great chance for caregivers to bond with their child while learning new rhymes and stories to share. Each program includes stretches, music, a story, and more followed by an open play time.


LEGO Club

Tuesday, April 11 from 4:00-5:00pm

Kids ages 5+ are welcome to visit and build with the library LEGOs. Bring your neighbors, big siblings, and school friends! LEGO Club is designed to give kids a safe, creative environment in which they can freely build with LEGOs, interact with peers, and express themselves. This month's theme is "The Floor is Lava!"


Little Music Makers

Thursday, April 13 from 10:30-11:00am

Enhance your little one’s love of music during this 30-minute bonding time, with songs, dance, and movement games to excite one’s budding musician. Babies and toddlers ages 0-2 with a caregiver are welcome to drop in and join us!


Anime Club

Thursday, April 13 from 4:00-5:00pm

Ages 11 - 15 are invited to watch anime, snack, craft and socialize. This month watch episodes from Pokémon: Indigo League (the original series!) while crafting Poké Balls and a catapult to launch them!


Marble Mazes

Tuesday, April 18 from 1:30-2:30pm

Ages 8 - 12 are invited to engineer their own marble maze from simple supplies including straws, play dough, cardboard, and glue. Every attendee will get to take home their creation and a marble to challenge their family and friends to a maze run! Grow-a-Garden Storytime

Wednesday, April 19 from 1:30-2:30pm

Ages 4-8 can join the Library in a STEM storytime with a reading of "A Garden in Your Belly" by Masha D'yans about the garden of microscopic flora inside the body that keeps us healthy. After, kids will explore composting and plant growth with hands-on activities and a take-home seed pot to start their own garden! Chess Club

Wednesday, April 26 from 4:00-5:00pm

All ages* & skill levels can learn and play chess at the Library. Whether you have been playing for years or want to start playing for the first time, you’re welcome to join us. This is a drop-in event; no registration is needed. *Children under age 8 must be accompanied by someone over age 13 at all times.


Puppy Dog Tales

Thursday, April 20 from 4:15-5:00pm

Readers of all ages may read to a certified therapy dog to develop their literacy and presentation skills as well as build confidence and self-esteem. Our dogs and trainers provide a supportive environment to practice reading aloud. This is a drop-in event; no registration is needed.


ASL Storytime

Thursday, April 27 from 10:30-11:15am

Ages 3-5 and caregivers can enjoy a storytime with Miss Melissa and a special guest who was born deaf and uses American Sign Language to communicate. Kids will learn simple words in ASL alongside a reading of Hands and Hearts by Donna Jo Napoli and then create their own sand jar craft. We hope this new "Community Notices" virtual backpack will help streamline communication between the community and the school district. We recommend checking the backpack weekly.
