It is Fun.
You should come!
PENN PRIDE: we have. we are.
Students: We are focusing on getting to know one another and celebrating our differences with the theme: Tell Me Your Story. We kicked this theme off with all classes attending an assembly on Wednesday. Ms. Young played guitar and taught the students a beautiful song. A key lyric from the song is "I'll tell you my story. You tell me your story. Then I'll be part of yours and you'll be part of mine." We also watched a video created by Mr. Landolt and featuring Penn students and staff that celebrates the diversity of our pride here at Penn. You can watch it here.
I'm sure your child(ren) would love to see it again too.
Staff: Teachers continue to focus on making every minute worthwhile -- especially since those minutes have been so impacted by weather! Winter screening assessments are nearly done and teachers are beginning to prepare for parent teacher conferences.

Planning for 2019-2020
Dear Elementary Families,
The District has developed a comprehensive parent guide for elementary families for the 2019-20 school year. The Elementary Roadmap contains information on the upcoming attendance area changes, as well as a timeline of key dates for things such as Kindergarten Registration, BASP enrollment deadlines, transportation deadlines, and eRegistration.
Please note, for families who are impacted by the 2019-20 attendance area changes, there will be transition opportunities available. Some of these include meeting the new principal, as well as, an open house at each school.
The Elementary Roadmap will be coming home in your child’s Friday Folder in January; however, it is also linked here for your reference. We encourage you to review it, taking note of the information and key dates that impact your family.
Please contact the Educational Services Center at (319) 688-1000 if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Stephen Murley
Superintendent
Iowa City Community School District
The newest info about 2019-20 Elementary Attendance Areas

These letters were based on the address on file for your student(s) in PowerSchool. Please make sure you read that! AND make sure your PowerSchool information is correct, so that you are getting accurate information.
Please visit the links below, which provide access to the 2019-20 District attendance area maps and the District’s Attendance Area Look-Up, which provides school information specific for your home address.
