Welcome Back to School!
8-21-2020
Welcome to Peculiar Elementary!
The first day of school is only 2 days away! Can you believe it?
The staff have been working hard to get rooms ready, learning new teaching strategies and how to add to their already amazing toolbox of skills, and preparing for your students to walk through those front doors on Monday morning.
We have put together a short video about the first day. It includes information about taking back to school pictures, car rider drop off, walkers, and some guidelines to help keep everyone safe.
We have also included our map for car rider drop off for your reference.
Please remember that our dismissal process may take a little longer these first few days to a week. Busses may also run a little slower than the times you have been given. We ask that you give us patience and grace as we work through new procedures to keep your children safe at all times. I have faith that as we near the end of the first week and into the second week, our dismissal process will be running smoothly.
It's going to be a great first day of school! Please help keep it safe by watching our video, reading the pointers below, and "masking up".
If you have any questions, please give us a call.
See you Monday!
-Keri Collison
Principal
A few reminders to help our first day go smoothly:
- Parents will be able to take pictures in front of the marquee or "Welcome Patriot" sign by the large egg next to the street (can also take these Sunday afternoon/evening, or Monday evening after school)
- Parents may not walk students to the front doors
- Please allow your students to walk from the red fire hydrant up to the school without adult assistance (this will assist us in maintaining a safe and appropriate social distance)
- Wear your mask if you are waiting for a turn to take pictures and stay 6 feet away from the next family
- Remind your child/children to wear their masks (with a smile underneath)
- Please do not pull through the bus lane in front of the building
- Do not park in our car rider drop off lot
- Send your child off with hugs and lots of love for his/her first day!
