Rapid Fire Jigsaw Activity
Description
Students will get into groups of at least 4 for the activity. The teacher will take one lesson from the textbook and will assign each group 1-2 sections with headings. Over the next 20 minutes groups will read, discuss, prepare a presentation, read section to be presented, present, and provide input to each presentation.
Part 1: Reading
Students will get into groups of at least 4 for the activity. The teacher will take one lesson from the textbook and will assign each group 1-2 sections with headings. Over the next 20 minutes groups will read, discuss, prepare a presentation, read section to be presented, present, and provide input to each presentation.
Part 2: Discussion
During the next 5 minutes you and your group members will take the time to discuss and share input on the section you just read.

Part 3: Presentation Preparation
During the next 5 minutes, group members will work on creating a detailed summary of the section they read in 5 sentences or less (bullet points are acceptable) to be written on the large sticky note provided to each group. *Even though the summaries are short, they should still provide enough information for understanding about what was read to your peers*
Part 4: Presentation
Students will present their summaries of 1 and a half minutes. Each group member must speak during the presentation.
Part 5 Silent Class Reading
The class will take the next 2 and a half minutes to SILENTLY read the section that was presented to them and prepare to provide input to the presenters.
While reading on your own, evaluate and compare the presentation given with the information provided in the book.
