APRIL 2023

Greetings to all our Roosevelt Bear Community!

Thank you, Roosevelt families for participating in our parent/teacher/student conference week. Conference week is a time to reflect on your child’s successes and areas of growth for your child moving forward.

Spring is here and excitement is in the air as we continue to have a wonderful year of learning. As always, we greatly appreciate the efforts of all within our learning community as we support our students in successfully meeting the high standards set before them.

In April, our teachers and staff continue to introduce and review rigorous academic skills and content across all grade levels. It is imperative that our students are present daily and eager to actively participate in the learning each and every day.

Spring Break is here!

I hope all of our students, staff and entire Roosevelt Community get to enjoy this much-deserved time resting and rejuvenating before we dive into the last leg of this school year.

Happy Spring!

Cheryl Jordan

Will be having all gates around the building locked during school hours (closed campus) for safety reasons. From here forward all students will enter the building through the front door and be guided to the playground through the building. If you have any questions please call 573-1700. Thank you!

ABSENCES: If you have not called in your student's absence and we have not made contact with you, please send a note with your student upon his/her return in order to avoid an unexcused absence. Feel free to contact our attendance secretary at 573-1706.

TARDIES: Students need to be in class by the time the tardy bell rings. In the morning, the first bell rings at 8:40am, students are expected to be in class by 8:45am and ready to learn! When they are tardy this disrupts the learning process.

CHECKING OUT A STUDENT: When you know your student has an appointment or needs to be picked up early please note that we will get your child out of class when you arrive. They are sometimes in a specialist class or at recess which sometimes take a minute for them to get to the office. Please be patient with us when checking out your child. If you are needing to check out before school is out, we are requesting all check outs to happen before 2:45 or before. The office is a busy place at the end of the day and cannot guarantee check out after 2:45.

If you have any questions, please call our attendance secretary at 573-1706.

PRE-ARRANGED ABSENCES: If your student will be gone from school for something other than an illness, or medical appointment, please fill out a prearranged absence form ahead of time. The forms are in the office at the student service desk. They need to be completed two weeks ahead of time with a parent signature or attached note, the dates of the absence, teacher signatures, and the principal’s signature. If such an absence occurs, and the form is not completed by district guidelines, the absence is not excused
