Congratulations on your retirement!!
In August 2022, we celebrated the graduation of our full- and part-time practical nursing programs, recognizing 63 graduates. Students in the full-time program were enrolled from August 2021 through August 2022; students in the part-time were enrolled from September 2020 through August 2022. After graduation from a practical nursing program, students have the option to apply for a Graduate Practical Nurse permit (GPN). With this permit, students can work as a GPN with supervision until they earn licensure as a practical nurse via the national licensure exam (NCLEX).
From our graduating full-time practical nursing class of 2022, of the students that have taken the NCLEX licensure exam, 93% of the graduates passed the NCLEX licensure exam. The majority of the graduates from this class have taken the NCLEX.
From our graduating part-time practical nursing class of 2022, of the students that have taken the NCLEX licensure exam, 96% of the graduates passed the NCLEX licensure exam. The majority of the graduates from this class have taken the NCLEX.
The GACTC practical nursing program is approved by the State Board of Nursing. Our NCLEX pass rate for first-time test takers for the period of October 1 through December 31, 2022 was 94%. Our current NCLEX pass rates are well above the required pass rate for practical nursing programs in Pennsylvania per state law, which requires an 80% NCLEX pass rate.

AutoCAD
What is AutoCAD?
AutoCAD is a computer-aided design software developed by the company Autodesk (hence the name AutoCAD). It allows you to draw and edit digital 2D and 3D designs more quickly and easily than you could by hand. Designs include drawings, models, electrical diagrams, construction drawings, etc. AutoCAD is the original CAD software used by millions around the world. Our welding students receive instruction in AutoCAD as part of their print reading course. The course is taught by Mr. Sinisi.
The GACTC participated in the Blair County Home Garden & Healthy Living Showcase.
