The battle was between the army President Grant put together against the native americans. Grnt let the army handle the affairs happening in the west. There was about 4,00o natives against 3,000 trops.

This is the date when the very fist battle happened. It became the Red River Campaign. The 3,00 troops moved in from five different directions on the native camps. The troops did not stop looking for natives till the next spring. Texas Rangers also fought in the this battle.
